We’ve always believed the way you see the world shapes the way you photograph it. For us, that might mean noticing the way light shifts across a room – or the way laughter softens a moment – or the way love feels both ordinary and extraordinary all at once. It’s always been about feeling a moment and paying attention to the heartbeat of what’s happening in front of us, no matter where we are in the world or who we are with. That way of seeing isn’t something we switch on for weddings. It’s how we move through our lives, constantly drawn to the beauty of presence and connection. Photography and film are simply the tools we use to hold onto it all.
Mel is the extroverted dreamer. Sentimental, full of ideas, and happiest when deep in conversation or discovering a new corner of the world. She’s the one rearranging furniture on a whim, crying at heartfelt vows (every time), and planning trips around the best local food. Romantic films, evocative lyrics, art galleries, museums, and the way light falls across a room so effortlessly are the muses behind her inspiration.
Jesse is the quiet observer. Gentle, intentional, and always seeing beauty in the smallest details. He’s the one geeking out over cameras, losing himself in music, suggesting what to eat next (his true love language), and often found documenting our travels through the lens of his video camera. He notices people in passing, draws stories from the world around him, and savours those quiet, slow mornings. Thoughtful and calm, he brings balance to Mel’s big energy – although when something lights him up, his passion spills out in the form of endless conversation.
